Consultation Session
An initial clinical interview to discuss your concerns as an individual, couple, or family. Parents frequently seek a consultation session to discuss questions or concerns about their child’s behavior or social and emotional functioning. Consultations are typically done in one session, but occasionally may require 2-3 sessions to fully understand your concerns and discuss the best ways to address them. Recommendations may include psychotherapy or other suggestions for you to pursue independent of therapy.
Individual Adult Psychotherapy
Ongoing therapy sessions to discuss you, your relationships, your life, and how you might overcome the emotional problems and obstacles stopping you from achieving your goals and satisfaction in life. Therapy involves regularly scheduled appointments that generally occur weekly, however sometimes clients are best helped by more or less frequent sessions. Therapy might be as short as 6-8 sessions or as long as a year or more, whatever you need to achieve your goals.
Couples Therapy
Ongoing joint sessions to discuss your relationship, interaction patterns, and ways of relating to each other. The goal is to improve communication and mutual understanding and resolve conflicts and patterns of relating that are not constructive in order to improve your relationship and marital satisfaction. This might be achieved in 6-8 sessions or you may wish to devote 6-8 months to working towards more extensive development of your relationship.
Parent Guidance Therapy
Parents frequently seek consultation and therapy to learn the best ways to understand and guide their children through the ups and downs of childhood. This type of therapy helps a parent to better understand and manage their children's challenging emotions and behaviors. Parents can also learn techniques to help their children express their feelings in the most constructive and adaptive ways and navigate childhood with resilience.
Family Therapy
Ongoing family sessions to discuss your relationships, interactions patterns, challenges and areas of strength within the family. The focus is on being a family together and finding the optimal ways to communicate and interact in order to achieve everyone’s goals and happiness. Family therapy can be helpful during times of stress and conflict and times of transition and change in the life of a family.
Annual Mental Health Check-Up
This is a short-term consultation, involving 1-3 sessions. It involves a systematic review of all areas of your psychological functioning, as well as a review of the meaningful events in your life over the last year, your reactions to them, how they have affected you, and how you are currently coping and thriving.
